My client, a
leading telecommunications firm listed in The Sunday Times Top 100 Employers is
seeking a Business Analyst to work on a variety of projects in the B2B space.
The Business Analyst will liaise with stakeholders identifying and developing
technical and business requirements.

- Elicit
requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops,
surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios,
business analysis, task and workflow analysis
- Critically
evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts,
decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level
information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the
underlying true needs
- Strong
facilitation and consensus building skills. Demonstrable experience running
workshops to guide participants who hold strong and often differing perspectives
to identify and develop areas of consensus
- Drive and
challenge business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully
execute their plans
- Strong analytical
and product management skills required, including a thorough understanding of
how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application
and operational requirements
- Collaborate with
developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and
analyse tradeoffs between usability and performance needs

- Proactively
communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyse
information needs and functional requirements and deliver the following
artefacts as needed: Functional requirements (Business Requirements Document),
Use Cases, GUI, Screen and Interface designs
- Utilise his/her
experience in using enterprise-wide requirements definition and management
systems and methodologies
- Successfully
engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously
- Work independently
with users to define concepts and under direction of project managers
- Excellent verbal
and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally
with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts
- Serves as the
conduit between the customer community (internal and external customers) and
the software development team; acts as the single point of contact through
which all requirements flow
- Develop
requirements specifications according to standard templates, using user
friendly (natural) language
- Be the liaison
between the business units, technology teams and support teams.
- Strong
prioritisation skills: Ability to evaluate work pipeline to identify and
progress those initiatives best aligned to business objectives
Skills/experience
that is desirable
- Experience using
group facilitation techniques to ensure positive outcomes using tools and
techniques like ground rules, norming, issue parking, multi-voting, etc
- Project
management skills and experience or certification (Prince2, PMP)
- Experience in
customer service and/or service delivery operations
- ITIL concepts
familiarity (or certification)
- Experience with
Agile methodologies, SCRUM, Sprints (or at least exposure to these concepts)
- Exposure to CRM
tools including but not limited to Salesforce.com, Siebel, Clarify, Vantive, or
Remedy
- Experience
working in environments that are ambiguous or undergoing ongoing change
- Exposure to Lean,
Six Sigma or continuous improvement methodologies
